From the farming community of Dalaguete, Cebu, Ms. Mary Jane A. Rodrigo, Sacred Heart School – Ateneo de Cebu Grade School Filipino teacher, proudly shares how the humble farmers create a significant impact to the whole country. Through her passion for farming, she wants to remind people that the hardworking tillers of the soil are not “just farmers”, they are nation builders. According to her, they and their hard work should be honoured. She and her family continue the legacy of planting and harvesting vegetables. She also encourages everyone to start planting in their own backyard for a more cost-efficient and nutritious diet. “Kung ano ang itinanim ay siya namang aanihin”.
