The Grade School MAGIS Society – Student Council is a response to the need for a better organized student government, aimed towards the development of the youth as future leaders of the nation. Commonly known as the MAGIS Society, it is the unified student organization that embodies the ideals and principles of democracy to promote the welfare of all students and the academic standards of the school. It comprises the executive board, advisory council, volunteers and Ignatian Leaders’ Council. As the nursery of future leaders, the MAGIS Society is part of the formation program of the school that purposely conducts activities that hone the leadership skills of the pupils.

Eloquence in action is inherent in Jesuit education. To mold men and women who are capable of expressing themselves both in speech and in writing is one of the school’s primary goals.

The SEEDS Magazine is the voice of the Ateneo Hearters- the source for current information delivered to the entire student body. Being the official school publication, the SEEDS Magazine aims to develop student writers imbued with the Ignatian contemplative – in – action mindset, sharing stories that speak the truth and promote peace. The editorial staff of the magazine regularly meets every Wednesday for their formation program. They release an issue once every semester. More than just a magazine, the SEEDS Magazine is a journalism formation program where the members are honed regularly to be student journalists imbued with the Ignatian core values. They have a quarterly formation activity where they get to recall, restore, rejoice and re-ignite their call for Ignatian journalism.

The Curriculum Enrichment Program (CEP) is the club offering for the Grade School Department that aims to:

• develop the giftedness and abilities of the pupils, that uniqueness of their personality may achieve realization;
• provide opportunities for leadership, creativity, initiative, personal and collective responsibility, and expression of talents and interests in various fields of critical involvement in activities, in and out of school;
• provide scope of opportunities for all pupils to develop their interests and capabilities;
• concretize the school’s vision-mission towards integrated education; and
• enhance the students’ value formation to become men and women for others for social transformation.

The CEP is divided into Primary and Intermediate. The Primary CEP (Grades 1 & 2) are self-contained with the respective class advisers as club moderators. The moderators are given the opportunity to vary activities since activities are planned based on the initial skills assessment conducted among the pupils. The activities are aligned with the month themes/celebrations as a result of the collaborative planning done by the moderators and CEP Primary Coordinator.

On the other hand, the Intermediate CEP are categorized based on the subject area clusters. CEP as enhancement of curricular offerings, the CEP aims to concretize the long – term goals of the subject areas they are aligned with and the multiple intelligences (MI) being developed.
In the selection, the intermediate CEP maximizes the Guidance Data for pupils’ choice of clubs. It employs Multi-Grade Instruction (Grade 3-4 and 5-6) to encourage optimal pupil participation and varying interest due to age gap. These CEP are formed based on the interests of the learners vis-à-vis skills or interests of the faculty.

All pupils are required to attend their respective clubs every first and second Wednesday of the month. A pupil must be a member of only one club. Their performance is graded and is part of the criteria in the quarterly and year-end honors and awards. Club membership is on a first-come-first-served basis.
