“Go forth and set the world on fire” –St. Ignatius of Loyola to St. Francis Xavier on his mission to the east
On June 18, 2014, the entire school community came to the Magis Eagles Arena dressed in red to celebrate the Mass of the Holy Spirit also known as the “Red Mass”.
In the homily of our new campus minister Fr. Joel A. Liwanag S. J., we learned that this color symbolizes the fire of Holy Spirit burning in each one of us. That just like St. Francis Xavier, we must also learn to ignite this fire in others, by being good Christians and by upholding the core values of our school. In the mass we also invoked the presence, guidance, and inspiration of the Holy Spirit, so that under its influence, we may achieve the different goals we set for the incoming school year. We also celebrated the 92nd birthday of one of our school founding fathers, Fr. Arsenio Nuñez, S.J.
Happy Birthday Fr. Nuñez! May God bless you with many more years of good health as you continue to ignite the fire within us.
