A Celebration of the Feast of the Sacred Heart

A Celebration of the Feast of the Sacred Heart

The Sacred Heart School – Ateneo de Cebu community joined the procession for the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus on June 12, 2015 at the Sacred Heart Parish. The faculty, staff, student leaders, and the drum and bugle corps were seen wearing their Red Lux Oriens shirts on that day. Earlier in the week the Sacred Heart School – Ateneo de Cebu Community joined in an anticipated Mass for the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. During the homily, Fr. Joel Liwanag, SJ, emphasized the significance of the Sacred Heart of Jesus: a pierced, wounded, and burning heart that symbolizes the love of God for humanity. The teachers and staff were then missioned to answer the call of Jesus by witnessing to the Sacred Heart through the lives that they live, especially in their work. The teachers were blessed by Fr. Joel Liwanag and Fr. Manny Uy, S.J. Indeed the faculty and staff were inspired to become a light that guides others on the path of Christ.
