In a world where the only absolute is change, the field of education is surely no exception. With the constant leaps and bounds in educational trends and teaching styles, the process of keeping up to date can become quite challenging. On Saturday, July 25, 2015, with pure determination and dreams of sharing their talents with the community, the High School Mathematics Area decided to rise up to the challenge by hosting their very own seminar-workshop entitled Math Pedagogy in Problem-Solving and Math Competitions, with their resource speaker Dr. Ian June L. Garces from Ateneo de Manila University and special guest Mr. Tomas T. Pastor, the regional Math Supervisor.

With an astonishing turnout of over 200 participants from more than 75 schools, Mathematics teachers from all corners of Region-7 gathered at Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu united by their passionate drive of enhancing their teaching skills. In this whole-day mathematics seminar the teachers  were given ample opportunities to harness the new techniques in mathematical teaching and were equipped with enhanced approaches in math competitions. Needless to say, it was truly a long day for our High School Math Teachers; however, hard work never goes unrewarded. Seeing the participants leave with more confidence and pride in their profession was surely more than enough.
