What started in 1996 as a simple international exchange program has evolved into something of immeasurable value for two schools. For over twenty years, Eiko Gakuen of Kamakura, Japan and Sacred Heart School – Ateneo de Cebu have fostered strong ties of brotherhood, friendship and culture. Eight students from SHS – Ateneo de Cebu and eight students from Eiko Gakuen will be participating in the program where they will get to experience each other’s world with another perspective.
The Batch 20 Eiko Gakuen students arrived last January 26, 2015 and were enthusiastically and warmly welcomed by the student body. They were also quite game in introducing themselves and showcasing their different talents. Aside from classroom exposure, they arrived just in time to celebrate SHS-Ateneo de Cebu’s 60th Anniversary celebration and got to participate in one of the school’s many social involvement programs. These students will be staying with their host brothers for two weeks as the program will span from July 26, 2015 to August 9, 2015.
