The Sacred Heart School – Ateneo de Cebu community held an anticipated celebration of the Feast Day of Saint Ignatius of Loyola.
A series of activities were organized to commemorate the feast day of the school’s patron saint. The celebration began with the Ground Breaking Ceremony of Cor Jesu Oratory. It was then followed with a mass in honor of Saint Ignatius of Loyola. During the mass, the Blue Plate Project was formally launched in the presence of representatives from Cubacub Elementary School, the school’s beneficiaries. The SHS-AdC PTA Executive Board also conducted their Oath taking in front of the whole assembly.
Following the mass, the school community witnessed a showcase of talents as tribute to Saint Ignatius of Loyola. World-class dancing, singing, and acting performances from both the teachers and students were presented to personify the philosophy of Magis – to do more and be more. After which, the teachers in the Grade School Department taught English, Science, and Math to Grade 4 to 6 pupils in Cubacub Elementary School.
Indeed, July 30, 2015 was an invigorating day for the whole Sacred Heart School – Ateneo de Cebu community and was epitomized by the school’s battle cry: Always Lux Oriens, Always Magis, Always Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam.
