Although Mathematics is considered to be one of the most challenging subjects in school, Sacred Heart School – Ateneo de Cebu continues to produce students who are inclined to solving difficult mathematical equations and word problems.

To hone the talents and skills of these Ateneo Hearters, the school developed the Magis Program for those who are intellectually gifted in Math. This move is strongly supported by the Math teachers. Since 2010, the program has provided an avenue for students to nurture their abilities in solving math problems and has served as a breeding ground for champions as they participate in contests both in the local and international scene. Because of the consecutive successes of the students in different contests, the members of the Magis Program were able to develop national linkages with different Math organizations in the Philippines and other countries such as Hongkong, Singapore, and China.

Now on its 5^th year, the Math Magis still remains as resilient program as it ventures again in a year of challenges and victories. Aiming to discover future math wizards, teachers are carefully scouting students who have great potentials in the hopes to develop champions who are committed in pursuing excellence.

With its continuous success, the Math Magis Program is truly living out the school’s values on excellence, leadership and service proving that there is indeed power in numbers.
