On July 27,2016, the entire school community went to the movies to view the newly released film Ignacio de Loyola. It was an important event for the entire Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu community because the entire movie was dedicated to the life of the school’s patron saint Ignatius of Loyola.
The movie detailed the life of St.Ignatius during his conversion. It described Ignatius’s old life, struggles, and conversion. It spanned the length of approximately two hours. All the students and teachers were able to watch it during different times of the morning either at Robinson’s Galleria or Ayala Center Cebu.
Ignacio de Loyola was well received. Some students and teachers were emotional while viewing it. Others became inspired by the realization that they too can be like St.Ignatius of Loyola. People felt that they became closer to him as they journeyed with him through his faith. The movie itself was directed by an alumnus of Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu, Paolo Dy.
St.Ignatius of Loyola is known as the saint of second chances as he was given a second chance to become closer to God through his journey of faith. It’s a must see for those who want to feel closer to God, those who want inspiration in their lives, or a model to look up to when times get rough.
