Sacred Heart School – Ateneo de Cebu garnered the People’s Choice Award during the Saint Francis Xavier (SFX) Global Network Instagram Competition initiated by the Jesuit Asia Pacific Conference (JCAP) in celebration of the Feast of St. Francis Xavier on December 3, 2016.

JCAP organized this global competition for students to be creative and to think out of the box as they take photos of themselves or their friends in front of the Jesuit Schools Map. The photo entry must convey a message of unity in diversity through Jesuit tradition. Among the 50 photo entries in the Asia Pacific, the photos of Brent Sevilles and Jose Vincent Laude were chosen to be part of the twelve finalists. The photo entry of Brent Sevilles acquired the most number of “Likes” and “Shares”, with 1.1K Likes and 202 Shares. JCAP awarded SHS-ADC with the Certificate of Magis: The People’s Choice, for their active involvement in the SFX Global Network Instagram Competition. Brent and Jose Vincent were guided by their Shutters’ Clique (club) moderator, Mr. Alven Rey Labadan. In his Instagram post, Mr. Labadan expressed:

“We are a worldwide community of learners, enriched by our diversity, but united by our zeal for the magis and desire to be persons for and with others.”

Indeed, the school’s participation in the SFX photo contest did not raise awareness only on the Jesuit Global Network but also on the goal of Jesuit Education: to form men and women of Conscience, Competence, Compassion, and Commitment.
