Back-to-Back Champions

Sacred Heart School- Ateneo de Cebu’s very own Ms. Bianca Alba of 12-Servire was crowned Ms. CESAFI 2019 at the CESAFI opening event held at the Cebu Coliseum on Saturday, August 31.

She also garnered the Ms. SUN award for having the most text votes out of all the candidates in the high school division.

It was a back-to-back championship for the blues as Lorraine Hann, a graduate of class 2019, also won Ms. CESAFI back in 2018.

Students from the Cebu Institute of Technology- University started the event with a prayer, this was followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem. A dragon dance performance by the students of the Cebu Easter College (CEC) was then presented.

Athletes of various sports from schools namely: Cebu Doctors University, Cebu Eastern College, Don Bosco, University of San Jose Recolletos, Cebu Institute of Technology- University, SouthWestern University, University of San Carlos, University of Cebu Lapu-lapu and Mandaue, University of Cebu- Main, University of Southern Philippines Foundation, University of the Visayas, Velez College, and Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu then paraded throughout the Coliseum.

After the parade of athletes, a flash mob dance presentation from students of the different schools was showcased. Mr. Nicholas Villamor, President of the CESAFI, then gave the opening remarks as he shared the vision of the CESAFI, and mentions how the CESAFI serves as a platform for athletes to be in the limelight of the different sports to showcase their skills and talents.

The presentation of the Ms. CESAFI 2019 candidates from both the high school and college division then followed. They were judged according to the following criteria: beauty of the face, figure, and poise. After which, each of the judges were introduced.

A dance performance by each of the dance groups representing various school then took place, and towards the end, all dancers performed as one.

Congratulations, Bianca! You do the school proud!
